Our 4 Activities Co-ordinators ensure that there is always something different happening every day. Residents can enjoy coffee mornings, barbecues during summer, music sessions, days out, painting, games, excercise classes and much more. Families are always welcome and encouraged to join in with activities and events at the home. The home received an excellent rating for our activities programme on our last inspection report.

Residents are free to visit the local shops, parks, beaches or pubs when they choose, and staff are always willing to accompany them if required. We are always ready to celebrate any birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions and hold regular parties throughout the year with entertainment .

We encourage residents to join in as much as they choose, however we respect the wishes of those who choose to 'do their own thing'.

At Chesterholm Lodge our staff are dedicated to creating activities according to our residents' needs and interests. A lot of activities are on a group basis, which creates a real community spirit, however we offer the following on a one to one basis.

Hairdressing
Chiropody services.
Reflexology and massage
Manicure and pedicure

We have a visiting library which supplies talking books and braille choices plus they welcome individual requests.

Services are also held in the Home regularly with pastoral visits available on request, for all religious denominations.

We also recognise the importance of reminiscence and stimulating word games as a regular activity for people with dementia, short-term memory loss or mental health problems and ensure that those who wish to join this activity are fully supported. From memory enhancing activities, and sensory stimulation, or just a good old sing song, there is sure to be something for every resident to enjoy.
